Mrs. O

This summer I noticed First Lady Michelle Obama wearing a couple of amazing statement necklaces. Today while browsing Saks online, I found a necklace that looked similar to the one she wore (below). To my surprise, they were by the same designer, Fenton Dana Lorenz. I love that she wore the necklace with a classic outfit. It was a perfect way to make the outfit edgy and make a statement without looking trendy.

Michelle also wore Fenton necklaces while visiting Moscow and on the December 2009 issue of Glamour Magazine.
In the issue, where she is named 'Women of the Year,' she gives some great dating advice to "all the single ladies, all the single ladies. Now put ya hands up!"

“Cute’s good. But cute only lasts for so long, and then it’s, Who are you as a person? That’s the advice I would give to women: Don’t look at the bankbook or the title. Look at the heart. Look at the soul. Look at how the guy treats his mother and what he says about women. How he acts with children he doesn’t know. And, more important, how does he treat you? When you’re dating a man, you should always feel good. You should never feel less than. You should never doubt yourself. You shouldn’t be in a relationship with somebody who doesn’t make you completely happy and make you feel whole. And if you’re in that relationship and you’re dating, then my advice is, don’t get married.”

I found a blog that follows the fashions of Mrs. O. Check it out Mrs. O-What and Whom She's Wearing

Rain Rain Go Away!

It's really rainy in NC due to the remnants of Hurricane Ida. I realized this morning that I need to purchase a pair of rain boots. This summer I found a pair of Hunter rain boots at Rugged Wearhouse for $24. At the time, it was near drought weather in NC so I didn't purchase them. Looking back, I must have been near starvation or sick because I rarely think I don't need clothes or shoes.

Hunter has partnered with Jimmy Choo to create a croc print rubber rain boot which are a bit more interesting and chic than traditional rain boots.

Hunter boot for Jimmy Choo available at saksfifthavenue.com for $395

Since $400 rain boots are way outside of my budget, to Target I go! Target has a ton of rain boots in various patterns and colors. I think the red and black are really chic and versatile. The best part is they're only $24!

Zetta Tall Rain Boots available at Target.com for $24

Steal Her Style: Rihanna's Devi Kroell Bag

Rihanna was spotted out today rocking the Devi Kroell classic hobo bag in metallic python. HOT! Devi Kroell's bags are known for their exotic materials and huge price tag.

Devi Kroell Classic Medium Hobo in Metallic Python available at devikroell.com for $2490

In Spring 2007, Devi Kroell designed a line for Target. I purchased a bronze tote and love it! While it's not python(polyurethane), the texture is really close to the real thing.

Stacks on Deck

So I was watching Gossip Girl on dvr today (yeah I know, I'm 10 years over the target age group) and thought I heard the T.I. song 'Whatever You Like' being covered by a girl. So I hit the rewind button, and indeed it was. Her name is Anya Marina. Check out the video below, it's kinda funny!

The Perfect Boyfriend

Finding the perfect boyfriend blazer is just as difficult as finding the perfect boyfriend. On a recent trip to NYC, my friend Courtney and I both had our eyes on alert for the perfect one. A blazer, NOT a boyfriend. Courtney found the perfect blazer from Zara. It has great tailoring, exaggerated shoulders and it's the perfect length.

Just like men, I wasn't interested in having the same one, so my quest continued. I did find the perfect blazer by Elizabeth & James at Saks 5th Ave, but it was $425 (below).

But this weekend I think I scored the perfect blazer from the Goodwill!!!!!

Boyfriend blazer: $4.95
Zara Belt: $25
Yoana Baraschi dress: $10 (Ultimate deal-marked down from $169)
Louboutins: priceless

Here are a few of my favorite celebs in their boyfriend blazers...

My Leg Candy

My work attire today was inspired by my Leg Candy post from yesterday. I'm wearing a Susana Monaco dress that I normally wear in the spring. But to transition it into fall, I've paired it with a black patterned tight by Betsy Johnson. So, I've shown you my leg candy, now I'm off to work........
