Product Review: Time & Again Shea Butter

Instead of stuffing our Christmas stockings, my Mom gives the family a TON of random beauty and bath products in a large tote. This year there was a container of Shea Butter by Time & Again. I'd never heard of the brand so I had no clue what to expect. I've used shea butter before by L'Occitane and loved it. L'Occitane is kind of expensive, $39, but it's 100% pure and does wonder for dry skin and cuticles.

Time & Again Shea Butter is a blend of cocoa butter, shea butter, and pure glycerin. So what does that mean? Cocoa butter is a natural fat that melts into the skin and creates a barrier between sensitive skin and the environment to help retain moisture. Shea Butter contains Vitamins A, E, and F to help restore moisture to the skin. Vitamins A and E help maintain the skin and keep it clear and healthy.  They are particularly helpful for sun damaged skin. They help prevent premature wrinkles and facial lines.  Vitamin F acts as a skin protector and rejuvenator. It soothes rough, dry or chapped skin and helps soften dry or damaged hair. Pure glycerin protects the skin by sealing in the moisture. Most cosmetic products contain 2-7% of pure glycerin, so 100% will really aid in moisture retention.

The verdict, Time & Again Shea Butter is full of good stuff for cold weather! It isn't greasy or super thick; feels like you are applying lotion or body cream. It's also much cheaper, $9.99, than L'Occitane. But you are giving up some of the benefits of 100% Shea Butter.  It's cold outside so your skin is gonna get dry. Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, a stick of  butter...Just use something to protect your skin. Ashy skin is not a good look!
