Tights are an affordable way to accessorize your fall wardrobe and an easy way to wear your favorite summer dresses year round. With so many patterns, textures and colors to choose from, there are endless styling options for work and play. The key to wearing tights is to keep clothes simple and let the tights be the focus of the outfit. So if you're wearing a pair of tights with a crazy design, don't ruin the look by paring it with another busy, patterned item. Here are a few tight options from my favorite stores, Target & J.Crew.

Cold Weather Beauty: Lips

We are experiencing such yo-yo weather in NC. One day it's 55 degrees the next day it's 72. Spite the crazy weather, I'm moving forward with my winter beauty routine. My skin is dry year round, but in the winter it gets extremely dry. I'm a beauty junkie and there are a few items I must use to keep my skin looking good. Lip moisturizer is one of them.

 I always think of the character Jerome Biggums from the Dave Chappelle Show-not a good look. So to keep my lips chapped free, I use Kiehl's Lip Balm. I like it because it's light weight and sinks deep down into my lips instead of resting on top. It also has no scent or color so a great option for men. I have friends who swear by Rosebud Slave. So I must try!

Where Are you Going In Those?

To test my faithfulness to my fashion fast, I visited Saks 5th Avenue after work. While it was difficult, I was victorious. Even though this location is no competition for 10022, they had a few shoes I would by elated to receive from Santa. As I entered the shoe salon, I saw 2 girls, yes girls who looked maybe 16, trying on over the knee boots. My first thought was "where in the hell are you going in those boots!" But I refrained from commenting. If I was with a friend I would have let out a whisper. But I must admit, they were HOT! As I stated, I was victorious in my fashion fast, so I can only imagine how I would wear them if they had the privilege of resting in my closet.....

P.S. Santa, if you are reading, please contact me ASAP. I need to turn in my change of address form. It's been a few years since you've visited and I'm starting to get concerned.

Are You 5 Star Chic?

If you listen to hip hop, then I'm sure you've heard the rap song "5 Star Chick" by Yo Gotti. I'm curious if you think you're 5 star chic? Chic by definition means 'stylish' and 'smart'. But I also think it's a mindset, a way of thinking, an attitude.

Please don't count the designer items in your closet and answer yes. Designer and/or luxury items DO NOT make you chic. They only compliment what you have going on. So think about it and share why you are 5 star chic!!!!!

How Often Do you Wax

Your eyebrows???? I stopped waxing my brows probably 2 years ago and started getting them threaded. Theading is 100% natural without the use of chemicals. I would always breakout due to the mystery ingredients in the wax. My friend Courtney, who is a fabulous MAC makeup artist, convinced me to purchase the MAC spiked brow pencil. Best decision ever! It's easy to use and perfect for filling in sparse areas. I can't live without it! I'll have to ask Courtney to do a before and after so you can see the difference.

Welcome to Beauty Board! beauty, fashion and everything chic in between.

Today I found myself starring at my closet hoping that the items I no longer wear would disappear and magically be replaced with all new items. That didn't happen. Instead, my eye focused on two items:

1. one shoulder, bright multi-print mini dress that I've yet to wear, but have packed on every summer trip I've taken for the last 3 years. Each time I try it on I feel like a lost cast member from the Love Boat.

2. a J Crew Candy Tweed dress that I bought, returned, told a friend about, they bought it, I got jealous, proceeded to talk them out of it, and "encouraged" them to give it to me. DISCLAIMER: I don't exhibit this type of fashion behaviour often. I've had the dress for 6 months and have yet to wear it. I am on a fashion "fast" and can't buy anything. So this dress is the closest thing I have to a new item. This is how I would like to wear it..
